mba challenge

This is the fourth week of the MBA challenge, Asia's first online reality show brought to you by Active Channel Pte Ltd. Today we see the remaining 8 surviving contestants, out of the initial 16, taking the next part of the challenges inching themselves ever closer to the ultimate prize of a $25k MBA scholarship from Kaplan University.

If you are new to this, the gameplan of the challenge was for the initial 16 contestent to survive weekly rounds of challenges posed by renowned companies in Singapore. The contestants are grouped into 2 teams, namely Team revolvo Inc and Team Synergy. Out of the teams, a captain would be chosen for each. Every week, a Sponser will give a business challenge to the 2 teams of contestants every Tuesday at 9am, at Kaplan university. Once the challenges are given, the teams have to make their presentations that afternoon to the designated Sponser. The Sponser will then decide the winning team based on their soundness of their business proposal and solutions to the challenge. The losing team would have its captain earmarked for elimination. A panel of judges would also review the presentation and add a few others to the pool of people for the elimination round to take place on the following Saturday afternoon. These 3 or 4 selected ones are then subjected to votes from the internet. Viewers who voted are also eligible for the grand draw prize. The last two persons with the least votes are then eliminated. The rest will then move on to the next challenge the coming week.

Today, remaining contestents are;
From Team Synergy: Bonnk Lim, Rahul Shah, Masey Bajrai, Teressa Lee
From Team Revolvo Inc: Satheesh Paddolker, Nur Aini Bandi, Moonshi Mohsenruddin, Sharina Shah

Early in the morning, all the contestents gathered at Kaplan university to accept the next challenge. Hosted by by Paul Foster (Red Thread, Polo Boys, Bachelor Chef fame) and Andrea Savage (Singapore cover model), this week business challenge comes from BlackBerry, makers of mobile smartphones that keeps you connected to your emails wherever you are.

The challenge from Blackberry is this; to develop an application that can increase adoption and usage of Blackberry smartphones. The contestants would be given a budget of 50k for the purpose of marketing or takeup of the applications on the phone. The contestants would have to give thoughts to the development and the projected revenue over a period of 12 months. The proposal would be judged on the business viability, relevance and stickiness of the applications.

So, who would be the team that would raise above the quest and win this week's challenge? Who would be the weakest link to be sent to the elimination round? Stay tuned and find out. More updated information can be gotten at http://www.mbachallenge.tv/
